I attended CMU and graduated from Ferris State University with B.S. in Health Information Mgt., while also taking art courses, including drawing, drafting and design. While in Texas, I continued to take art classes, including pastel painting, and studied art with Barbara Wilson at the Wilson School of Art. After returning to Michigan, I took multiple classes with Jim Markel. I have shown my work at Festival of the Arts, receiving a Grand River Art Award in 2022, Celebration of the Arts at FUMC, with an Honorary Mention Award in 2019. My pastel paintings have also been accepted to the West Michigan Regional Arts Competition in Muskegon. I have been involved with Christian artist groups, and a was a coordinator for the Grand Rapids Reformation 500th Anniversary Art Competition in 2017, and had several art shows at Christ Lutheran Church. My artist statement: I have a goal to remind us of the the beauty that is in the world, and the wonder of God's magnificent creations.
